This Privacy Policy explains how Voter World ("this site," "we," or "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use this website and application.
Voter World is created, owned, and operated by private individuals as a training-supplement resource for poll workers and support staff. It is not owned, operated, or endorsed by Santa Clara County or the Santa Clara County Registrar of Voters. See our Terms & Conditions for more on this relationship.
When you sign in with Google, we receive basic profile information from your Google account, including your name and email address. We do not ask for or receive your Google password, and we cannot access your Google account beyond this basic identification.
We do not currently use a password-based login. Because sign-in happens through Google, we do not store passwords for this site at all.
As you use the training scenarios, we store your training activity — such as which scenarios you attempted and whether your responses were correct — associated with your account, so that your progress can be tracked over time.
Certain trusted users may be granted permission to add or edit content on this site (for example, entries on the Problems page). This is a permission-gated capability, not open to the general public. If you are granted this access, any content you submit is stored along with your account as the author, and may be visible to other users of the site.
We use the information described above to authenticate you, operate the training scenarios, save your progress, and — where applicable — track authorship of contributed content. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with third parties except as necessary to operate the site (for example, Google, for sign-in).
We retain account and activity information for as long as your account exists on this site, or as long as needed to operate the site's training features.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective Date" above will reflect the date of the most recent changes.
